Ranch Hand - Horse Trainer Position available
We are seeking a full time, long term, motivated, horse trainer/ranch worker or an experienced rider wanting to learn to train horses. Someone who is flexible (because no two days are the same), that can work independently, unsupervised and with a professional manner. In addition, someone who can oversee the general care and maintenance of the facilities. Farrier experience or the willing to learn is a plus.
Job includes: taking out trail rides; daily care such as feeding, watering and cleaning stalls; medicating if necessary; presenting horses for sale; fencing; bush hogging; training horses. You will also be taking care of dogs, goats, pigs, chickens. It is not all about the horses. To sum it up, general ranch work. We have several young horses that need to be started and others that need their training finished, we train our horses to be child safe.
Here is a little about us: Horses have been our business for over 13 years. We are a year round horse operation We have guided trail rides at our ranch. We are willing to teach the right person to train horses. We will provide you with a place to stay on our property with electric, water and Dish Net. You will be paid a small salary plus commission on horses sold and tips from horseback rides.
We are looking for a person who pays attention to details. A self starter would be well suited for this position.
